ACTION PIN achieves B Corp® certification

Subsidiary of Firmenich meets high standards for social and environmental impact

ACTION PIN, which develops and makes products for farmers and professional hygiene based on biosourced technologies, today announces that it has achieved certification as a B Corp. ACTION PIN joins a global community of more than 6,500 purpose-led businesses that meet B Corp’s high standards of social and environmental responsibility and transparency. The company has been assessed by B Corp as a complete and distinct subsidiary of Firmenich.

Founded in 1995 and based in southwestern France in one of Europe’s largest forests, ACTION PIN specializes in the design, production and distribution of specialist products made with raw materials produced from pine trees. By harnessing natural raw materials and terpenes technology, the company develops biocontrol plant products to promote healthier agriculture, and sustainable hygiene products.

“B Corp certification reflects our commitment to the environment, people, and transparency, which are central to our model as a responsible business that seeks to promote nature and its riches by placing them at the heart of tomorrow's solutions,” said Cédric Fischer, Head of ACTION PIN. “We’re proud to be recognized among businesses globally that are striving to be a force for good through progress towards an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.”

Jonathan Normand, B Lab Switzerland Founder and co-Founder B Lab Europe said: “The B Corp process is a robust and independent assessment of a company’s impact on people and planet, seconded by bylaw changes to anchor positive impact over the long term. More than a badge, B Corp is a movement that accelerates positive impact performance across the company and its value chain. We are pleased to see ACTION PIN take a leading role in its ecosystem to drive its direct and indirect stakeholders towards continuous improvement on sustainability practices.

“I congratulate ACTION PIN on its B Corp certification, and we are delighted at Firmenich to see them setting the pace for the rest of the Group to follow with their inspiring business model,” said Gilbert Ghostine, CEO of Firmenich. “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) action underpins responsible business across the Group and we are committed to build on our achievements and constantly raise our standards.”

B Corp Certification means that a company has been verified as meeting B Labs’ high standards for social and environmental impact, that it has made a legal commitment to stakeholder governance, and that it is demonstrating accountability and transparency by disclosing this record of performance in a public B Corp profile.

ACTION PIN scored 91.6 points out of 200 on the B Impact Assessment (BIA). A minimum of 80 points is required to achieve B Corp status. To date, more than 6,500 companies have achieved B Corp certification. These companies span over 153 industries and more than 80 countries. ACTION PIN’s BIA and scores, as well as controversies-related statements, are published transparently at bcorporation.net.
